What is Adiabatic?
Thermodynamic changes occurring within a system without any exchange of heat with the surroundings. In the atmosphere, changes in temperature due to adiabatic expansion and contraction occur with the increase and decrease of atmospheric pressure. The ascent and descent of an air parcel in the atmosphere are examples of this.
