What is Subtropical Jet?
The jet stream forming the boundary between tropical air and sub-tropical air, characterized by isothermal compression and a change in wind direction. The jet is located between 25 and 35 degrees N latitude and approximately 40,000 feet above ground. The position of the jet shifts southward in winter and northward in summer.
